Ravana’s Shakti Javelin and Lakshmana’s Wounding
तस्मिन्प्रतिहतेऽस्त्रेतुरावणोराक्षसाधिपः ।क्रोधं च द्विगुणंचक्रेक्रोधाच्चास्त्रमनन्तरम् ।।।।
tasmin pratihate 'stre tu rāvaṇo rākṣasādhipaḥ |
krodhaṃ ca dviguṇaṃ cakre krodhāc cāstram anantaram ||6.101.1||
Als jene Waffe zurückgewiesen wurde, verdoppelte Rāvaṇa, der Herr der Rākṣasas, seinen Zorn; und im Grimm rüstete er sogleich ein weiteres Geschoss.
Missile being counteracted, Ravana, the king of Rakshasas, doubled the army later in anger.
Unchecked anger multiplies adharma: when pride is thwarted, the unrighteous often escalate harm instead of reflecting and returning to truth.
After his prior weapon is neutralized, Rāvaṇa becomes more enraged and readies another attack.
By contrast, the virtue implied is self-control—dharma requires restraint rather than escalation driven by krodha.
