taṃ tu dṛṣṭvā maṇiśreṣṭhaṃ rāghavaḥ śoka-karśitaḥ |
netrābhyām aśru-pūrṇābhyāṃ sugrīvam idam abravīt ||

Dharma is seen in responsible leadership and truthful communication: even in grief, Rāma turns to his ally Sugrīva, maintaining the ethical order of counsel and cooperation.
After receiving Sītā’s token, Rāma’s sorrow intensifies; he prepares to speak to Sugrīva, the leader of the vānaras, about the next steps.
Rāma’s self-control within sorrow—he remains engaged with duty and alliance rather than collapsing into despair.
