हनूमद्वृत्तान्तः—वानरबलप्रशंसा च
Hanuman’s Report and Praise of the Vanara Host
सदेवासुरयक्षेषु गन्धर्वोरगपक्षिषु।मैन्दस्य प्रतियोद्धारं शंसत द्विविदस्य वा।।।।
sa-devāsura-yakṣeṣu gandharvoraga-pakṣiṣu |
maindasya pratiyoddhāraṃ śaṃsata dvividasya vā ||
Unter Devas, Asuras und Yakṣas, unter Gandharvas, Nāgas und selbst unter den Vögeln — sagt: wer könnte Mainda oder Dvivida im Kampf die Stirn bieten?
"The (two) sons of Aswini are outstanding and foremost fighters and proud of waging war. Who can oppose them? I do not see any one.
Dharma is strengthened through recognizing and relying upon qualified defenders; the verse uses rhetorical challenge to affirm confidence in the righteous coalition.
Before the great battle, the vānara leaders enumerate their champions and declare their superiority over all classes of beings.
