Hanuman’s Offer of Rescue and Sita’s Dharmic Refusal
अथ रक्षांसि भीमानि महान्ति बलवन्ति च।कथञ्चित्सांपराये त्वां जयेयुः कपिसत्तम।।।।
atha rakṣāṃsi bhīmāni mahānti balavanti ca | kathañcit sāṃparāye tvāṃ jayeyuḥ kapisattama ||
Und dann, o Bester der Affen, könnten jene rākṣasas—furchterregend, riesig und stark—dich im Gedränge der Schlacht irgendwie besiegen.
"O noble monkey! the massive, fearsome and powerful demons may defeat you in the fight in any way.
Dharma advises humility and realism: even a mighty ally can be overcome, so one should not stake righteousness on uncertain force alone.
Sītā continues discouraging an immediate rescue by describing the possibility that Hanumān could be defeated by powerful rākṣasas.
Prudent humility—Sītā avoids overconfidence and treats outcomes as uncertain.
