Hanuman Beholds Sita in the Ashoka Grove
हर्षजानि च सोऽश्रूणि तां दृष्ट्वा मदिरेक्षणाम्।मुमुचे हनुमांस्तत्र नमश्चक्रे च राघवम्।।।।
harṣajāni ca so 'śrūṇi tāṃ dṛṣṭvā madirekṣaṇām | mumuce hanumāṃs tatra namaś cakre ca rāghavam || 5.17.31 ||
Als er sie sah, mit bezaubernden Augen, vergoss Hanumān Freudentränen; und dort erwies er Rāghava (Rāma) ehrfürchtige Verehrung.
She was a tolerant lady. She had beautiful limbs which looked splendid even though she was not wearing ornaments. Hanuman experienced immeasurable joy on seeing Mythili.
It models righteous humility and gratitude: success is attributed to one’s rightful lord and purpose, and expressed through reverence rather than pride.
Upon confirming Sītā’s presence, Hanumān is overwhelmed with joy and inwardly salutes Rāma.
Hanumān’s devotion (bhakti) and humility; his emotions remain aligned with duty.
