Survey of the Aśoka Grove and its Enchanted Landscape
ये केचित्पादपास्तत्र पुष्पोपगफलोपगाः।।।।सच्छत्रास्सवितर्दीकास्सर्वे सौवर्णवैदिकाः।
ye kecit pādapās tatra puṣpopagaphalopagāḥ |
sacchatrās savitardīkās sarve sauvarṇavaidikāḥ ||
Dort trugen die Bäume Blüten und Früchte in greifbarer Nähe; und Lauben sowie erhöhte Sitze—gleich Sonnenschirmen—standen auf goldenen Plattformen.
The monkey leader saw one simsupa tree covered all over with canopies of many climbers and leaves. The tree was surrounded by golden platforms.
Dharma is self-control amid abundance: ease and comfort are present, but the righteous agent does not become complacent.
Hanumān observes the luxurious garden furnishings—trees heavy with accessible fruit and flower, and golden-built resting structures.
Indriya-nigraha (restraint of the senses): he does not pause for enjoyment though everything invites it.
