रावणान्तःपुर-पानभूमि-विचयः

न रामेण वियुक्ता सा स्वप्तुमर्हति भामिनी।न भोक्तुं वाप्यलङ्कर्तुं न पानमुपसेवितुम्।।5.11.2।।नान्यं नरमुपस्थातुं सुराणामपि चेश्वरम्।न हि रामसमः कश्चिद्विद्यते त्रिदशेष्वपि।।5.11.3।।अन्येयमिति निश्चित्य पानभूमौ चचार सः।

na rāmeṇa viyuktā sā svaptum arhati bhāminī | na bhoktuṁ vāpy alaṅkartuṁ na pānam upasevitum ||5.11.2||

na anyaṁ naram upasthātuṁ surāṇām api ceśvaram | na hi rāmasamaḥ kaścid vidyate tridaśeṣv api ||5.11.3||

anyeyam iti niścitya pānabhūmau cacāra saḥ |

„Jene schöne Frau, von Rāma getrennt, wäre nicht fähig zu schlafen — noch zu essen, sich zu schmücken oder dem Trank zuzusprechen. Auch würde sie sich keinem anderen Mann nahen, selbst wenn er der Herr der Götter wäre; denn niemand ist Rāma gleich, nicht einmal unter den Unsterblichen.“ So entschied er: „Sie ist es nicht“, und ging im Festsaal umher.
