रावणान्तःपुरे शयनदर्शनम्
Hanumān Observes Rāvaṇa’s Inner Apartments and Sleeping Court
स तां दृष्ट्वा महाबाहुर्भूषितां मारुतात्मजः।तर्कयामास सीतेति रूपयौवनसम्पदा।।।हर्षेण महता युक्तो ननन्द हरियूथपः।
sa tāṃ dṛṣṭvā mahābāhur bhūṣitāṃ mārutātmajaḥ |
tarkayāmāsa sīteti rūpa-yauvana-sampadā ||
harṣeṇa mahatā yukto nananda hari-yūthapaḥ |
Als er sie geschmückt erblickte, schloss der großarmige Sohn des Windgottes: „Dies muss Sītā sein“, nach dem Reichtum an Schönheit und Jugend; von großer Freude erfüllt, jubelte der Anführer der Vānara.
On seeing her embellished with ornaments, beauty and charm, the long armed son of the Wind-god, the chief of the vanaras thought her to be Sita and rejoiced.
It warns that dharmic action must be grounded in truth: inference based on appearance can mislead, so one must verify before concluding.
Hanuman, momentarily mistaken by appearances, thinks he has found Sita and feels joy.
Hope and devotion, but also the need for careful truth-testing (satya-parīkṣā) in decision-making.
