The Account of Following the Sun
अथाऽवां युगपत्प्राप्तावपश्याव महीतले।रथचक्रप्रमाणानि नगराणि पृथक्पृथक्।।।।
athāvāṃ yugapat prāptāv apaśyāva mahītale |
rathacakrapramāṇāni nagarāṇi pṛthak pṛthak ||
Dann, als wir zusammen ankamen, blickten wir auf die Erde hinab und sahen Städte nacheinander – so klein, dass sie nicht größer als Wagenräder schienen.
'And from there both of us looked at all the cities on the land which seemed like the size of chariot wheels one after the other.
A dharmic insight of humility: worldly grandeur appears small from a higher standpoint, reminding one not to be intoxicated by power or possessions.
While following the Sun, Sampāti describes the aerial view of the world below, where cities appear tiny due to their height and speed.
