Dasaratha’s Lament and Return to Kausalya’s Apartments

Your dependents have nothing to do with me nor I with them. I denounce you since you are a self-seeker without any sense off righteousness.
The verse presents dharma as shared suffering and care: Kausalyā does not abandon the afflicted king; she stays near, embodying compassionate duty amid the collapse of royal happiness.
Daśaratha lies in bed consumed by thoughts of Rāma; Kausalyā sits beside him and laments, her grief expressed through heavy sighing.
Kausalyā’s fidelity and empathy—steadfast companionship in distress, a quiet strength within domestic and royal dharma.
