Karma, Non-Violence, Tīrtha & Gaṅgā Merit, Vaiṣṇava Protection, Śālagrāma Worship, and Ekādaśī as Deliverance

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A dark chasm labeled ‘Naraka’ and a wheel of births swirl at the edge of the composition, yet a luminous circle forms around the worshipped Śālagrāma, stopping the fall. The devotee’s hands are folded; above the stone, a faint four-armed Viṣṇu apparition appears in the aura, signifying grace that cancels terrifying destinies.","primary_figures":["Śālagrāma (Viṣṇu arcā)","Vaiśya devotee","Viṣṇu (aura/vision)","Yama’s attendants (distant, fading)"],"setting":"Threshold-like shrine space where the mundane meets the cosmic—lamp, conch, water pot; background dissolves into symbolic naraka imagery.","lighting_mood":"divine radiance cutting through darkness","color_palette":["midnight indigo","smoky charcoal","radiant gold","conch white","vermillion"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: central Śālagrāma with a large gold-leaf halo, Viṣṇu’s subtle form emerging in the prabhā, devotee in añjali, dark naraka motifs pushed to the margins, heavy ornamented arch, rich reds/greens, embossed gold textures emphasizing protection and grace.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: dramatic yet delicate—shadowy lower-birth symbols in soft washes, a bright circular aura around the Śālagrāma, refined devotee figure, cool blues with warm gold accents, minimal but expressive Yama-dūta silhouettes receding.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines, strong contrast between dark lower realm and bright sanctum, stylized Viṣṇu aura with characteristic eyes and ornaments, natural pigments, temple-wall composition with narrative registers.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: protective mandala around Śālagrāma, lotus borders and conch motifs, deep blue field with gold highlights, symbolic wheel of saṃsāra rendered as floral-circular pattern, devotional emphasis on refuge."}

Ś
Śālagrāma (as a sacred form associated with Viṣṇu)

FAQs

It asserts that devotion expressed through worship of the Śālagrāma (a sacred emblem of Viṣṇu) protects even a sinful person from hell and degrading rebirths, emphasizing bhakti as a powerful purifier.

It lists naraka (hell), garbhavāsa (repeated confinement in the womb/saṃsāric rebirth), tiryaktva (animal birth), and kṛmiyoni (birth as worms).

The verse encourages steady devotional practice—specifically Śālagrāma worship—while implying that sincere devotion can counteract past wrongdoing and should be paired with moral reform rather than complacency.
