Shankara (Shiva)

FAQs

It prescribes dīpa-dāna: arranging and offering (donating) a hundred lamps filled with ghee.

The verse states that the donor attains a radiant posthumous journey in sun-like vimānas (celestial chariots) to the realm associated with Śaṅkara (Śiva).

It emphasizes generosity and sacred giving (dāna), presenting charitable ritual action—especially offerings of light—as a means to spiritual upliftment and auspicious destiny.
