Ś
Śukla-tīrtha

FAQs

It prescribes a jāgara (night-long vigil) accompanied by auspicious observances like singing and dancing, followed by bathing at dawn and worshipping the deity at Śukla-tīrtha.

Night vigil with maṅgala activities (nṛtya, gīta, etc.) first; then, at dawn, snāna (ritual bath) at the specified tīrtha; and finally devatā-arcana (deity worship).

It emphasizes disciplined observance (staying awake in devotion) and purification (dawn bathing) culminating in reverent worship, presenting devotion as both celebratory and regulated by sacred time and place.
