Concept: Right turning on the sacred route and approaching a sanctified āśrama protects from durgati and grants higher siddhi.

Application: Choose ‘turn-backs’ from unwholesome paths; regularly visit or mentally recollect a sacred place/teacher and reorient conduct accordingly.

Jambū (as in Jambū-mārga)

FAQs

It frames pilgrimage as route-based sacred geography: a specific “Jambū-mārga” is mentioned, and the seeker is redirected to a named āśrama (Dulikā’s hermitage), implying that spiritual benefit is linked to correct sacred navigation.

It promises two outcomes: avoidance of “durgati” (a bad fate or spiritual downfall) and attainment of “anuttamā siddhi” (the highest accomplishment), presenting pilgrimage obedience as a means to protection and liberation-oriented success.

The verse emphasizes disciplined adherence to prescribed guidance—turning back from an intended route when instructed—and trusting authoritative directions as part of a righteous, goal-oriented spiritual practice.
