Concept: A teaching gains weight through paramparā: revealed/propagated by a deity, entrusted to a cosmic judge (Yama), and systematized for humans by Vyāsa.

Application: Approach ‘secret’ teachings with humility, seek reliable lineage/teachers, and prioritize faithful transmission over novelty.

FAQs

It establishes a lineage of transmission: a highly confidential teaching is said to have been disseminated by Bhāskara, communicated to Yama, and proclaimed on earth by Vyāsa—thereby asserting its authority and sanctity.

The phrase signals that the subject is not merely informative but initiatory or spiritually potent—meant for careful transmission and implying a deeper, inner significance beyond ordinary instruction.

It implies that true knowledge is preserved through responsible custodians: cosmic order (Bhāskara), moral law and restraint (Yama), and scriptural articulation for humanity (Vyāsa).
