Concept: Ritual making—constructing sacred emblems and a pavilion—yields graded heavenly results; time and method are to be precisely observed.

Application: Approach religious giving and building (temple maintenance, mandapa construction, festival infrastructure) with careful planning, right timing, and sincerity; understand that capacity-based offerings are valid when done properly.

FAQs

The verse recommends commissioning the making of Śiva-liṅgas and constructing a maṇḍapa (pavilion), presenting it as a meritorious religious act.

“Śaktyā” means “according to one’s capacity,” indicating that the act and its results are framed to be accessible at different levels of wealth or ability, without prescribing a single fixed expense.

It signals that the text is about to state a definite rule regarding time—such as the duration, timing, or scheduling connected to the rite and its promised result.
