Cosmic Time, Cycles of Creation and Dissolution, and the Varāha Uplift of Earth

तिर्यक्स्रोतश्च यः प्रोक्तस्तिर्यग्योन्यस्स उच्यते । ततोर्ध्वस्रोतसां षष्ठो देवसर्गस्तु स स्मृतः

tiryaksrotaśca yaḥ proktastiryagyonyassa ucyate | tatordhvasrotasāṃ ṣaṣṭho devasargastu sa smṛtaḥ

Die Schöpfung, die als ‘tiryaksrotas’ bezeichnet wird, heißt die Geburt der Tiere (tiryag-yoni). Danach wird unter den Wesen mit ‘aufwärtsströmendem’ Wesen die sechste Schöpfung als die Schöpfung der Götter (deva-sarga) in Erinnerung gehalten.
