अथैकदा श्यामबाला सुवर्णसिकतासु च । गूढैर्मनोहरै रत्नैः सखिभिः क्रीडितुं मुदा

athaikadā śyāmabālā suvarṇasikatāsu ca | gūḍhairmanoharai ratnaiḥ sakhibhiḥ krīḍituṃ mudā

Und einst ging das dunkelhäutige junge Mädchen auf Sand, der wie Gold glänzte, voller Freude hin, um mit ihren Gefährtinnen zu spielen, inmitten verborgener, bezaubernder Edelsteine.
