Prayaga-mahatmya

Glory of Prayaga and the Magha Bath at Triveni

कूपं चैव तु तत्रास्ति प्रतिष्ठानेऽति विश्रुतम् । तत्र स्नात्वा पितॄन्देवान्संतर्प्य यतमानसः ॥ ९३ ॥

kūpaṃ caiva tu tatrāsti pratiṣṭhāne'ti viśrutam | tatra snātvā pitṝndevānsaṃtarpya yatamānasaḥ || 93 ||

Und dort befindet sich wahrlich ein weithin berühmter Brunnen namens „Pratiṣṭhāna“. Wer dort badet und den Geist gezügelt hält, soll durch Tarpaṇa die Pitṛs (Ahnen) und die Devas (Götter) zufriedenstellen.
