FAQs

It warns that a tirtha-yatra can become spiritually ineffective if one clings to and keeps enjoying wealth connected with a questionable or self-serving act of gifting—here framed around kanyā-dāna in the Ganga–Yamuna region—emphasizing purity of intent and non-attachment in dharmic actions.

By implying that sacred travel and outward piety are not enough; inner integrity and freedom from possessiveness are required for one’s religious acts to bear fruit—an attitude aligned with bhakti’s stress on sincerity and selfless conduct.

Ritual ethics around dāna (charitable gifting) and tirtha-yātrā are foregrounded—showing that correct dharmic application (kalpa-style practical discipline) and intention determine whether a pilgrimage yields merit.
