FAQs

It teaches a tirtha-mahatmya principle: contact with a consecrated sacred source (the vāpī near the deity) is said to grant moksha-phala—freedom from repeated return (āvṛtti) to worldly existence.

The verse frames liberation as arising from proximity to the deity and reverent participation in temple-associated acts (like taking sanctified water), which in the Purana functions as a bhakti-infused ritual of surrender and sacred remembrance.

It reflects kalpa/ritual practice: the tirtha protocol of taking sanctified water at a shrine and the directional sanctity (dakṣiṇa/right side) used in temple and pilgrimage observances.
