The Procedure for Offering Piṇḍa (Funerary Rice-balls) — Gayā-māhātmya
स्नात्वा तेषु विधानेन कुर्याच्छ्राद्धं पृथक् पृथक् । दिबाकर करोमीह स्नानं दक्षिणमानसे ॥ ७८ ॥
snātvā teṣu vidhānena kuryācchrāddhaṃ pṛthak pṛthak | dibākara karomīha snānaṃ dakṣiṇamānase || 78 ||
Nachdem man an jenen heiligen Stätten gemäß der vorgeschriebenen Ordnung gebadet hat, soll man an jedem Ort gesondert das Śrāddha darbringen. «O Divākara (Sonne), hier vollziehe ich das heilige Bad, den Geist nach Süden gewandt.»
