Mohinī-upākhyāna

देवार्थमेषा भववर्द्धनार्थँ नृपोपकाराय च संप्रवृत्ता । न स्वार्थकामा लभतेऽवमानं कथं द्विजातोऽपकृतिं क्षमस्व ॥ ४५ ॥

devārthameṣā bhavavarddhanārthaṃ nṛpopakārāya ca saṃpravṛttā | na svārthakāmā labhate'vamānaṃ kathaṃ dvijāto'pakṛtiṃ kṣamasva || 45 ||

Dieses Vorhaben wurde um der Götter willen begonnen, zur Mehrung des Gedeihens und zum Wohl des Königs. Wer nicht von eigennütziger Begierde getrieben ist, zieht keine Schmach auf sich—wie könnte da ein Dvija eine Verletzung des Dharma dulden?
