The Description of Kāśī (Kāśī-māhātmya): Avimukta, Kapālamocana, and Śiva’s Purification
Narada (in dialogue with Sanatkumara tradition; Uttara-Bhaga tirtha-mahatmya narration)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It highlights a tirtha-māhātmya theme: divine places are sanctified by mutual reverence among deities, and devotion (bhakti) has the power to “bind” even great gods to remain present for devotees.
Bhakti is portrayed as a compelling force (bhakti-bhāva) that anchors Śiva at the sacred site, implying that sincere devotion establishes lasting divine presence and accessibility in a tīrtha.
No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this verse; its practical takeaway is tīrtha-focused dharma—faithful worship at a sacred site where Hari-Hara harmony is emphasized.
