निर्विण्णोऽतिममत्‍वेन राज्यापहरणेन च ।

जगाम सद्यस्तपसे स च वैश्यो महामुने ॥

nirviṇṇo 'timamatvena rājyāpaharaṇena ca /

jagāma sadyas tapase sa ca vaiśyo mahāmune

Von Überdruss am weltlichen Leben ergriffen—durch übermäßige Anhaftung und weil ihm sein Reich genommen worden war—ging er sogleich, o großer Weiser, zur Askese (tapas) auf, zusammen mit jenem Kaufmann.
