Adhyaya 80 — Vaivasvata Manvantara: Enumeration of Manus and the Eighth Manu Sāvarṇi
Purāṇic pedagogy often uses abbreviated list-markers (‘ityādika’) to indicate vast structured knowledge—inviting the hearer to recognize order without being burdened by exhaustive repetition.
Manvantara: cataloguing deva-hosts and their groupings is part of the manvantara profile.
The shift from one deva-group to another hints that cosmic functions are modular: different ‘sets’ of powers operate together as a unit, reflecting layered governance in subtle cosmology.
