Ballava (Bhīma) Seeks Employment as Royal Cook in Virāṭa’s Court
इहाहमिच्छामि तवानघान्तिके वस्तुं यथा कामचरस्तथा विभो । तमब्रवीत् स्वागतमित्यनन्तरं राजा प्रह्ृष्ट: प्रतिसंगृहाण च,“अनघ! मैं यहाँ आपके समीप रहना चाहता हूँ। प्रभो! जैसी आपकी इच्छा होगी, उसी प्रकार सब कार्य करते हुए मैं यहाँ रहूँगा।' युधिष्ठिरकी बात सुनकर राजा विराट बहुत प्रसन्न हुए और बोले--“ब्रह्मनन्! आपका स्वागत है।” तदनन्तर उन्होंने राजाओंमें श्रेष्ठ युधिष्ठिरको सादर ग्रहण किया। ग्रहण करके राजा विराटने प्रसन्न मनसे उनसे इस प्रकार कहा--“तात! मैं प्रेमपूर्वक्कत आपसे पूछता हूँ, आप इस समय किस राजाके राज्यसे यहाँ आये हैं?
ihāham icchāmi tavānaghāntike vastuṁ yathā kāmacaras tathā vibho | tam abravīt svāgatam ity anantaraṁ rājā prahṛṣṭaḥ pratisaṁgṛhāṇa ca |
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „O Tadelloser, ich wünsche hier in deiner Nähe zu wohnen. O Herr, in jeder Angelegenheit werde ich genau nach deinem Willen handeln.“ Als König Virāṭa dies hörte, war er überaus erfreut und sagte sogleich: „Sei willkommen!“ Dann empfing er Yudhiṣṭhira, den Besten unter den Herrschern, ehrerbietig und fragte ihn mit heiterem Herzen und liebevoller Anteilnahme, aus welchem Reich er gekommen sei.
