ततो हृष्टो मत्स्यराज: क्षत्तारमिदमब्रवीत् । प्रवेश्यतामुभौ तूर्ण दर्शनेप्सुरहं तयो:,इस समाचारसे प्रसन्न होकर मत्स्यरयाज अपने सेवकसे बोले--“मैं उन दोनोंसे मिलना चाहता हूँ; अतः उन्हें शीघ्र भीतर ले आओ”
tato hṛṣṭo matsyarājaḥ kṣattāram idam abravīt | praveśyatām ubhau tūrṇaṃ darśanepsur ahaṃ tayoḥ ||
Da sprach der König der Matsyas, erfreut über diese Nachricht, zu seinem Kämmerer: „Führe beide sogleich herein. Ich wünsche sie zu sehen.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights a ruler’s proper responsiveness: upon receiving favorable news, the king acts promptly yet through established courtly procedure, seeking direct audience rather than acting on hearsay—an ethic of timely action guided by protocol.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the Matsya king Virāṭa, pleased by the report he has received, instructs his chamberlain to quickly bring in the two individuals so that he may see them personally.
