Reassuring the Kuru Soldiers; Proclaiming Victory
दर्शयित्वा तथा5>त्मानं रौद्रं रुद्रपराक्रम: । अवरुद्धोड्चरत् पार्थों वर्षाणि त्रिदशानि च | क्रोधाग्निमुत्सूजन् वीरो धार्तराष्ट्रेषु पाण्डव:
darśayitvā tathātmānaṃ raudraṃ rudra-parākramaḥ | avaruddho 'carat pārtho varṣāṇi tridaśāni ca || krodhāgnim utsṛjan vīro dhārtarāṣṭreṣu pāṇḍavaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: So offenbarte er seine eigene furchterregende Gestalt—mächtig wie Rudra—und Pārtha (Arjuna) hatte, obgleich gebunden, dreizehn Jahre überdauert. Nun aber, da der rechte Augenblick gekommen war, begann der heldenhafte Pāṇḍava über das Schlachtfeld zu streifen, das Feuer seines Zorns über die Söhne Dhṛtarāṣṭras auszugießen und seine schreckliche Kraft sichtbar zu machen.
