Kṛpa’s Counsel to Karṇa on Deśa-Kāla and Coordinated Strategy
वीर अर्जुनके विभिन्न नाम पड़नेके जो प्रधान हेतु हैं, वे सब मैंने सुन रखे हैं। उन सबको यदि आप बता देंगे तो आपकी सब बातोंपर मेरा विश्वास हो जायगा ।। अर्जुन उवाच सर्वान् जनपदान् जित्वा वित्तमादाय केवलम् | मध्ये धनस्य तिष्ठामि तेनाहुर्मा धनंजयम्,अर्जुनने कहा--मैं सम्पूर्ण देशोंको जीतकर और उनसे (कररूपमें) केवल धन लेकर धनके ही बीचमें स्थित था, इसलिये लोग मुझे “धनंजय' कहते हैं
arjuna uvāca | sarvān janapadān jitvā vittam ādāya kevalam | madhye dhanasya tiṣṭhāmi tenāhur mā dhanañjayam ||
Arjuna sagte: „Nachdem ich alle Reiche bezwungen und von ihnen nur Reichtum genommen hatte, stand ich mitten in diesem Schatz; darum nennen mich die Menschen ‘Dhanañjaya’ — den Bezwinger des Reichtums.“
