Kṛpa’s Counsel and a Discourse on Statecraft

Educational Q&A

Those who remain steadfast in their rightful duty (kṣatra-dharma) and align their actions with wise guidance (here, following Kṛṣṇa) should not succumb to despair; bearing responsibility for the welfare of the virtuous is itself a mark of nobility and strength.

The narrator Vaiśaṃpāyana characterizes the Pāṇḍavas as unwavering in warrior-duty and as followers of Kṛṣṇa, emphasizing their heroic stature and moral fitness—thereby asserting that they are not the kind of men who should collapse under suffering or be destroyed.
