Kṛpa’s Counsel and a Discourse on Statecraft
प्रियवादी सदा दान्तो भव्य: सत्यपरो जन: । हृष्ट: पुष्ट: शुचिर्दक्षो यत्र राजा युधिष्ठिर:,“जहाँ राजा युधिष्ठिर होंगे, वहाँके मनुष्य सदा प्रिय वचन बोलनेवाले, जितेन्द्रिय, कल्याणभागी, सत्यपरायण, हृष्ट-पुष्ट, पवित्र और कार्यकुशल होंगे
priyavādī sadā dānto bhavyaḥ satyaparo janaḥ | hṛṣṭaḥ puṣṭaḥ śucir dakṣo yatra rājā yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Wo König Yudhiṣṭhira weilt, werden die Menschen sanft in der Rede und selbstbeherrscht—begünstigt und der Wahrheit ergeben—heiter und wohlgenährt, rein im Wandel und tüchtig in ihren Pflichten.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A ruler grounded in dharma shapes the moral and practical life of society: under a truth-loving, self-controlled king like Yudhiṣṭhira, people naturally cultivate courteous speech, restraint, purity, competence, and communal well-being.
Vaiśampāyana describes the beneficial influence of Yudhiṣṭhira’s presence and governance, portraying how his righteous character radiates outward so that the populace becomes virtuous, prosperous, and orderly.
