Kīcaka-vadha-pratisaṃjñā: Rumor in Matsya and the Kaurava Scouts’ Report (कीचकवध-प्रतिसंज्ञा)
ततो मामुपनेष्यन्ति करिष्यन्ति च ते प्रियम् । ध्रुवं च श्रेयसा राजा योक्ष्यते सह बान्धवै:
tato mām upaneṣyanti kariṣyanti ca te priyam | dhruvaṃ ca śreyasā rājā yokṣyate saha bāndhavaiḥ ||
Dann werden sie mich zurückbringen und tun, was dir lieb ist. Und der König wird, zusammen mit seinen Verwandten, gewiss mit Wohlstand und Wohlergehen verbunden werden—durch das wahrhaft Heilsame in einen besseren Zustand zurückgeführt.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse contrasts mere personal pleasure (priyam) with true welfare (śreyas), affirming that actions aligned with genuine good lead to the king’s secure restoration and prosperity, shared with his kin.
Vaiśampāyana reports a confident assurance: certain people will bring the speaker back and fulfill what is pleasing to the addressed person, and the king—along with his relatives—will certainly attain a better, auspicious condition.
