वैशम्पायन उवाच तस्यास्ता: कृपणा वाच: कृष्णाया: परिदेवितम्‌ । श्रुत्वैवाभ्यापतद्‌ भीम: शयनादविचारयन्‌

Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca | tasyāstāḥ kṛpaṇā vācaḥ kṛṣṇāyāḥ paridevitam | śrutvaivābhyāpatad bhīmaḥ śayanād avicārayan |

Translation

Vaiśampāyana sprach: O König, sobald Bhīma Draupadī (Kṛṣṇā) jene erbarmungswürdigen Worte und ihr schmerzerfülltes Klagen vernahm, sprang er augenblicklich vom Lager auf—ohne auch nur innezuhalten, um zu erwägen—getrieben von wilder Sorge um sie und von der Pflicht des Kriegers, auf eine Schmach zu antworten.
