पुण्ये गिरौ सुराष्ट्रेषु मृगपक्षिनिषेविते । उज्जयन्ते सम तप्ताड़ो नाकपृष्ठे महीयते,सुराष्ट्र देशमें मृगों और पक्षियोंसे सेवित उज्जयन्त नामक पुण्यपर्वतपर तपस्या करनेवाला पुरुष स्वर्गलोकमें पूजित होता है
puṇye girau surāṣṭreṣu mṛga-pakṣi-niṣevite | ujjayante sama-taptāḍhyo nākapṛṣṭhe mahīyate ||
Dhaumya sprach: „Im Lande Surāṣṭra gibt es einen heiligen Berg, den Hirsche und Vögel aufsuchen. Wer dort Askese übt — auf Ujjayanta, mit standhaftem, wohlgetragenem Tapas — wird in der Himmelswelt geehrt.“
