Dhaumya’s Enumeration of Eastern Tīrthas
Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana
ऋषिभिदर्देवकल्पैश्न स्नातानि सुकृतैषिभि: । एवं त्वमपि कौरव्य विधिनानेन सुव्रत
ṛṣibhir devakalpaiś ca snātāni sukṛtaiḥ ṛṣibhiḥ | evaṁ tvam api kauravya vidhinānena suvrata ||
Pulastya sprach: „Von tugendhaften Weisen—Männern, die den Göttern gleich erhaben sind—wurden diese heiligen Übungen ordnungsgemäß vollzogen, und so erlangten sie Reinheit. Ebenso sollst auch du, o Kauravya, der du fest in deinen Gelübden stehst, dies nach der vorgeschriebenen Regel ausführen.“
पुलस्त्य उवाच
That sacred practices and purificatory observances should be performed exactly according to prescribed injunction (vidhi), following the example of virtuous, godlike sages; disciplined vow-keeping is presented as the ethical foundation for spiritual efficacy.
Pulastya is instructing a Kuru-descended listener, pointing to the precedent of eminent sages who have successfully completed these purifying rites, and urging the listener to undertake the same observance properly and faithfully.
