Damayantī’s Recognition by the Piplū Mark and Her Return to Vidarbha
तिष्ठ त्वं स्थावर इव यावदेव नलः क्वचित् । इतो नेता हि तत्र त्वं शापान्मोक्ष्यसि मत्कृतात्
tiṣṭha tvaṃ sthāvara iva yāvadeva nalaḥ kvacit | ito netā hi tatra tvaṃ śāpān mokṣyasi matkṛtāt ||
Bṛhadaśva sprach: „Bleib hier, unbeweglich wie ein Baum, bis Nala an diesen Ort kommt. Von hier aus sollst du ihn weiterführen; und dadurch wirst du von dem Fluch erlöst, den ich über dich verhängt habe.“
