Educational Q&A

Power must be accompanied by knowledge of limits: the gift includes not only an irresistible weapon but also its secret handling and the method of withdrawal, emphasizing ethical restraint and responsible use.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that a Pāṇḍava addressed as Kaunteya is being given Varuṇa’s nooses—divine, unstoppable bonds—along with the confidential instructions and the procedure to retract or neutralize them.
