अपत्यार्थे परं यत्नमकरोच्च विशेषत: । सा ददर्शाथ मज्जूषामुहामानां यदृच्छया,राधा पुत्रप्राप्तिके लिये विशेष यत्न करती रहती थी। दैवयोगसे उसीने गंगाजीके जलमें बहती हुई उस पिटारीको देखा

Transliteration

apatyārthe paraṁ yatnam akaroc ca viśeṣataḥ | sā dadarśātha majjūṣām ūhamānāṁ yadṛcchayā |

Translation

Vaiśampāyana sprach: „In Sehnsucht nach einem Kind mühte sie sich mit außergewöhnlichem Eifer. Da erblickte sie, durch eine Wendung des Schicksals, zufällig eine Truhe, die auf den Wassern dahintrieb.“
