The verse frames parenthood and household responsibility as dharma: a child received through extraordinary means is accepted with gratitude as a divine trust, and is placed within a family through a deliberate act of care and commitment.
Adhiratha, who has no children, declares that the boy has been granted by the gods and then hands the child over to his wife Rādhā, effectively bringing him into their household as their son.
