वरुण उवाच रसा वै मत्प्रसूता हि भूतदेहेषु राघव । अहं वै त्वां प्रत्रवीमि मैथिली प्रतिगृह्यताम्‌,वरुणदेवने कहा--श्रीराम! समस्त प्राणियोंके शरीरमें जो जलतत्त्व है, वह मुझसे ही उत्पन्न हुआ है। अतः मैं तुमसे कहता हूँ, मिथिलेशकुमारी निष्पाप है, इसे ग्रहण करो

Transliteration

varuṇa uvāca | rasā vai matprasūtā hi bhūtadeheṣu rāghava | ahaṃ vai tvāṃ prabravīmi maithilī pratigṛhyatām ||

Translation

Varuṇa sprach: „O Rāghava, die ‘Säfte’ des Leibes — das wässrige Element in den Körpern aller Wesen — entspringen wahrlich mir. Darum erkläre ich dir: Maithilī ist schuldlos; nimm sie wieder an.“
