बहुना च किमुक्तेन शूणु कर्ण वचो मम | सनाथो<स्मि महाबाहो त्वया नाथेन सत्तम,“महाबाहु कर्ण! अधिक कहनेसे क्या लाभ? तुम मेरी बात सुनो। सत्पुरुषरत्न! तुम्हें अपना नाथ (सहायक) पाकर ही मैं सनाथ हूँ
bahunā ca kim uktena śṛṇu karṇa vaco mama | sanātho 'smi mahābāho tvayā nāthena sattama ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Wozu noch mehr Worte? Höre, Karṇa, auf meine Rede. O du Mächtigarmiger, Bester unter den Guten—da du mein Beschützer bist, bin ich nicht länger hilflos; ich habe Halt.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical value of concise, purposeful speech and the human need for dependable support: true strength includes offering refuge, and gratitude recognizes that protection restores dignity and confidence.
The speaker addresses Karṇa directly, urging him to stop extended discussion and listen carefully, then expresses reliance and reassurance—declaring that with Karṇa as a protector he feels secure and supported.
