Gandharva Encounter
देवानां दानवानां च मांसशोणितकर्दमम् | अनयो देवलोकस्य सहसैवाभ्यदृश्यत
devānāṁ dānavānāṁ ca māṁsaśoṇitakardamam | anayo devalokasya sahasaivābhyadṛśyata ||
Mārkaṇḍeya sprach: „Sogleich erschien ein Morast aus Fleisch und Blut, von Göttern wie von Dānavas zugleich—ein entsetzliches Zeichen der entfesselten Gewalt, die selbst das Reich der Götter befleckte.“
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse underscores the moral and cosmic cost of violent conflict: when hostility escalates, its stain is not confined to a battlefield but is portrayed as defiling even higher realms, serving as a warning about adharma and uncontrolled aggression.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes a sudden, horrifying manifestation—mire made of flesh and blood from both Devas and Dānavas—indicating intense fighting and a grim omen reflecting the scale of destruction.
