अपतत्‌ सहसा भूमौ विसंज्ञो5थ क्षुधार्दित: । स्कन्देन सो<भ्यनुज्ञातो रौद्ररूपो5भवद्‌ ग्रह:,वह पैदा होते ही भूखसे पीडित हो सहसा अचेत होकर पृथ्वीपर गिर पड़ा। फिर स्कन्दकी आज्ञासे वह भयंकर रूपधारी ग्रह हो गया

apatat sahasā bhūmau visaṁjño 'tha kṣudhārditaḥ | skandena so 'bhyanujñāto raudrarūpo 'bhavad grahaḥ ||

Vom Hunger gepeinigt stürzte er plötzlich bewusstlos zu Boden. Dann wurde er, mit Skandas Zustimmung, zu einem furchtbaren, zornigen Graha—einer quälenden Geistkraft, die losgelassen ist, um zu packen und zu martern.
