स्कन्द उवाच
The verse foregrounds dharma as respectful service: Skanda affirms a filial bond and offers himself as an instrument to fulfill the rightful desires and needs of those he calls ‘mothers,’ modeling humility, responsibility, and readiness to act for others’ welfare.
Skanda addresses a group of revered female figures as his mothers, declares himself their son, and invites them to state the specific task they want him to carry out—indicating his willingness and capacity to accomplish what they seek.
