पञ्चमहाभूतगुण-इन्द्रियनिग्रह-उपदेशः | Teaching on the Qualities of the Five Elements and Sense-Control
उत्तड़कमब्रवीद् विष्णु: प्रीतस्ते5हं वरं वृणु । महात्मा उत्तड़कके इस प्रकार स्तुति करनेपर सम्पूर्ण इन्द्रियोंके प्रेरक भगवान् विष्णुने उनसे कहा--'सहर्ष! मैं तुमपर बहुत प्रसन्न हूँ। तुम कोई वर माँगो”
uṭṭaḍakam abravīd viṣṇuḥ: prīto 'smi te varaṁ vṛṇu |
Da sprach Viṣṇu, erfreut, zu Uttaḍaka: „Ich bin dir wohlgesinnt. Wähle dir eine Gabe.“ So gewährte der Herr—Beweger aller Sinne—dem großen Asketen auf dessen Lobpreis hin, um eine Gunst zu bitten.
