ततस्तदस्त्रं कौन्तेय धूतं तूलमिवानिलै: । तथा तदभवद् युद्ध तुमुलं लोमहर्षणम् । लब्धालोकस्तु राजेन्द्र पुनः शत्रुमयोधयम्,कुन्तीकुमार! तब उस अस्त्रने उस सारी मायाको उसी प्रकार उड़ा दिया, जैसे हवा रूईको उड़ा देती है। इसके बाद शाल्वके साथ हमलोगोंका अत्यन्त भयंकर तथा रोमांचकारी युद्ध होने लगा। राजेन्द्र! सब ओर प्रकाश हो जानेपर मैंने पुनः शत्रुसे युद्ध प्रारम्भ कर दिया
tatas tad astraṃ kaunteya dhūtaṃ tūlam ivānilaiḥ | tathā tad abhavad yuddhaṃ tumulaṃ lomaharṣaṇam | labdhālokaḥ tu rājendra punaḥ śatrum ayodhayam ||
Da, o Sohn der Kuntī, zerstreute jene Waffe die ganze Täuschung, wie der Wind ein Büschel Baumwolle verweht. Darauf wurde die Schlacht tosend und schaudererregend. Und als das Licht ringsum wiedergewonnen war, o Bester der Könige, nahm ich den Kampf gegen den Feind erneut auf.
