Indra’s Meeting with the Pāṇḍavas
तमासीन॑ महाकाया: शड्कुकर्णा महाजवा: । उपोपविविशुर्यक्षा राक्षसाश्न॒ सहस्रश:,विमानपर बैठे हुए कुबेरके पास कील-जैसी कानवाले तीव्र वेगशशाली विशालकाय सहसौरों यक्ष-राक्षस भी बैठे थे। जैसे देवता इन्द्रको घेरकर खड़े होते हैं, उसी प्रकार सैकड़ों गन्धर्व और अप्सराओंके गण कुबेरको सब ओरसे घेरकर खड़े थे
tam āsīnaṁ mahākāyāḥ śaṅkukārṇā mahājavāḥ | upopaviśur yakṣā rākṣasāś ca sahasraśaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Während Kubera dort saß, nahmen tausend und abertausend mächtige Yakṣas und Rākṣasas—von riesigem Leib, schnell in der Bewegung und mit ohren wie Stacheln—nahe bei ihm Platz. Und wie die Götter Indra umstehen, so umringten auch Scharen von Gandharvas und Heerscharen von Apsarasen Kubera von allen Seiten und dienten ihm in ehrfürchtiger Ordnung.
