मैत्रेयागमनम् — The Arrival of Maitreya and the Admonition to Duryodhana
एवमुक्तस्तु धर्मात्मा सत्यसंधो युधिष्ठिर: । नैतदस्तीति सक्रोधो भर्त्सयामास राक्षसम्,उसके ऐसा कहनेपर धर्मात्मा एवं सत्यप्रतिज्ञ युधिष्ठिरने कुपित हो उस राक्षसको फटकारते हुए कहा--'ऐसा कभी नहीं हो सकता”
evam uktas tu dharmātmā satyasaṃdho yudhiṣṭhiraḥ | naitad astīti sa krodho bhartsayāmāsa rākṣasam ||
When the rākṣasa had spoken thus, Yudhiṣṭhira—righteous at heart and steadfast in truth—grew angry and rebuked him, declaring, “That can never be so.”
विदुर उवाच
Even a truth-committed, dharma-centered person may show anger when confronting wrongdoing or an unacceptable claim; the ethical point is firmness in truth and refusal to assent to adharma.
After hearing the rākṣasa’s statement, Yudhiṣṭhira becomes angry and openly rebukes him, insisting that what the rākṣasa proposes or asserts is impossible and unacceptable.
