Kṛṣṇa at Duryodhana’s House: Refusal of Hospitality and Departure to Vidura (कृष्णस्य धार्तराष्ट्रनिवेशनगमनम्)
The verse highlights dharmic conduct in communication: one begins by offering respectful salutations and by inquiring/reporting well-being (kuśala, anāmaya). Such courtesy sustains social harmony and frames later discussions—especially in tense political contexts—with civility and moral restraint.
A message is being conveyed on behalf of the Pāṇḍavas and Draupadī. They send respectful greetings to a revered woman addressed as ‘bhavatī’ and inform her that they are safe and healthy, establishing goodwill before further matters are communicated.
